Crush Effect is a producer duo from Southern CA who makes genre-bending music that spans from nu-funk to nu-disco to electronic motown. Their experience with production and live music runs deep, as David plays keys for Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, and Jesse plays sax for Panic! At The Disco.
Their recent single, Funky To Me, combines modern dance production with live saxophone and keys/piano to conceive a sound that is as futuristic as it is soulful. Crush Effect has truly merged these two worlds in the most musically unique way. The song was featured on Dancing Astronaut's 5 Under 5k, spotlighting up-and-coming artists, as well as several blogs including EDMBoutique, We Own The Night NYC, and Run The Trap.
Amongst their many achievements, they have been featured on TNT's hit TV drama "Franklin & Bash", Kia Optima’s commercials with LA Clippers star, Blake Griffin, and Southern Comfort's Fiery Pepper commercials. Recently, their remix of Odesza’s “White Lies” blew up on SoundCloud, garnering tons of plays and the #1 spot on Hype Machine.
Between Jesse and David they have performed from Madison Square Garden, to Tokyo, to Jamaica, to Red Rocks Colorado, spreading the vibrant energy of their live show on stages across the world. They have shared stages with Ozomatli, Lenny Kravtiz, Earth Wind and Fire, The Allman Brothers, and The Dave Matthews Band and have worked on tracks with artists like, Cook Classics, Outasight, Souleye, Vokab Kompany and Pitbull.
